I am a contributing writer at I served the site’s founder, Linda Kardamis, as a structural and copy editor as she worked to publish her most recent book, Take Heart & Teach. During that time, I utilized my knowledge of grammar, story organization, and The Chicago Manual of Style. My roles for the site also include writing and editing posts for the website.

I served the Temple Daily Telegram as a lifestyles reporter and copy editor. My responsibilities included writing feature stories surrounding people and current events. Also, I served the newspaper by editing stories, digital content, and social media posts.

Before I finished university, I secured a job as a co-editor at My responsibilities included assigning reporters stories, ensuring articles followed AP Style, and creating clean copy for a readership of more than 75,000 readers a month. I also wrote sports stories, some of which were used by the USA Today sports network.

I attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and completed my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. In that time, I worked as an editor for the university newspaper, worked as a freelance magazine writer, and interned as a communications specialist for the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

I completed my Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate in Cusco, Peru. Throughout my more than 150 hours of classes and 12 hours of practical teaching, I learned the nuances of the English language. I also learned how to edit ESL students’ writing.
